- Hello.
- I now having trouble getting my SLIP server to respond. I have used ping
- to see what is goin' down and it responds with something like, 100% return
- failure. That seems to be the problem with all of the winsock apps that I
- run, they send nicely but I don't ever get anything back. I don't know if
- I have sufficient symptoms for anyone to tell me specifically is wrong but
- any lead would help. Hopefully there is precidence of this problem.
-
- Thank you very much in advance.

- Subject: Problems running aixterm, mwm, etc...
-
-
- I've got the following setup: RS/6000 running AIX 3.2.5, and a PC running DOS 6
- and Windows 3.1. Winsock (trumpet) running under windows providing SLIP
- connection to the X server.
-
- Now, I can open up xwindemo, and even send xclock off, and it runs! I get
- my clock, it's right where I wanted it, and everything's peachy.
-
- If i try to run "aixterm" or "mwm" nothing happens. Specifically:
-
- aixterm - starts, doesn't open a window. No traffic going back and
- forth on SLIP (according to trumpet diags). Nothing happens even
- after LOOOONG wait.
- mwm - starts, and the cursor changes to an hourglas (the X hourglass)
- and then nothing. Even after a wait.
-
- What am I doing wrong? I'm sending these commands to background, with the
- options -display cap:0 (where cap is the name of the PC running Winsock).
- The clock runs, why not anything else?
-
- Help! Please respond to sal@world.std.com!! My gratitude would be enormous!
