  2. Hello.
  3. I now having trouble getting my SLIP server to respond.  I have used ping
  4. to see what is goin' down and it responds with something like, 100% return
  5. failure.  That seems to be the problem with all of the winsock apps that I
  6. run, they send nicely but I don't ever get anything back.  I don't know if
  7. I have sufficient symptoms for anyone to tell me specifically is wrong but
  8. any lead would help.  Hopefully there is precidence of this problem.

  37. I've got the following setup: RS/6000 running AIX 3.2.5, and a PC running DOS 6
  38. and Windows 3.1.  Winsock (trumpet) running under windows providing SLIP 
  39. connection to the X server.
  40.  
  41. Now, I can open up xwindemo, and even send xclock off, and it runs!  I get
  42. my clock, it's right where I wanted it, and everything's peachy.

  44. If i try to run "aixterm" or "mwm" nothing happens.  Specifically:
  45.  
  46.   aixterm - starts, doesn't open a window.  No traffic going back and 
  47.        forth on SLIP (according to trumpet diags).  Nothing happens even
  48.        after LOOOONG wait.
  49.   mwm     - starts, and the cursor changes to an hourglas (the X hourglass)
  50.        and then nothing.  Even after a wait.
  51.  
  52. What am I doing wrong?  I'm sending these commands to background, with the 
  53. options -display cap:0  (where cap is the name of the PC running Winsock).
  54. The clock runs, why not anything else?
